Borderless runs on each computer and connects them straight to one another. No hardware, no cables, no account to create.
Push the mouse against the edge of one screen and it carries on across the other computer's screen. Clicks, wheel and drags come along. Choose how hard to push, and how fast the pointer moves once it is over there.
Type on whichever computer holds the pointer. Keys are sent by physical position, so each machine applies its own keyboard layout, and shortcuts are translated between Mac and Windows as they cross.
Copy on one computer, move the pointer over, paste. Text arrives instantly; an image follows in the background on a stream of its own, so it never slows the mouse down. Turn either off with one click.
Drag every computer's monitors into the arrangement that matches your desk. Screens snap together so you always know which edge leads where, and the layout reaches every computer at once.
On one network the computers find each other in seconds and connect directly. Anywhere else the connection is punched through both routers, falling back to an encrypted relay when it has to. No port forwarding, no VPN.
Every computer has its own key and the connection is bound to it, so both ends know exactly who is on the other side. Nothing leaves a machine unencrypted — not a keystroke, not a clipboard — and a computer you no longer trust is cut off with one click.
No cables, no IP addresses to type. Computers on the same Wi-Fi or Ethernet find each other by themselves; the ones further away are one sign-in apart.
One small download per machine. On macOS, allow the Accessibility permission when asked.
Sign in with the same Google account under Settings → Account and your computers recognise each other wherever they are, with nothing to copy between them. On one network you can skip that: click Pair next to a computer and Allow on the other.
Drag each computer next to the others on the layout, exactly like on your desk. Now move the mouse across the edge.

Yes. Borderless punches a direct path through both routers, and falls back to an encrypted relay when that is not possible — the relay only ever carries traffic it cannot read. Nothing to forward, no VPN to set up. If you would rather run the meeting point yourself, put its address under Settings → Network on every computer.
Only for computers that are not on the same network. Two computers on one Wi-Fi pair with a click and an Allow, and nothing about that leaves them. Anywhere else, signing in with the same Google account is what lets them find and trust each other: it stores your computers' public keys, your screen layout and your settings, and nothing else. Your input, your clipboard content and your private keys never touch it.
Yes. Sign in at borderless-desktop.web.app/account with the same Google account and you get the list the computers see: what is on the account, which OS each one runs, and when each last checked in. Taking one off there tells the others to stop trusting its key, which is the quickest way to cut off a computer you no longer have. Computers you let in by hand, from the list on your own network, are left alone.
The Accessibility permission (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility). macOS requires it for any app that observes or synthesises keyboard and mouse input. Windows needs no special permission.
On the same network, check that your router lets devices talk to each other (some guest networks block this), then click Pair on the row and Allow on the other computer. Anywhere else, open Settings → Account on both and sign in with the same Google account; each appears in the other's list within a minute.
Press Ctrl + Alt + Esc on the keyboard you are using, or move the mouse back across the edge. The pointer returns to the computer the keyboard is attached to.
Yes. Shortcuts are translated as they cross: Ctrl+Left becomes Option+Left, Home becomes Cmd+Left, Alt+Tab becomes Cmd+Tab, and the other way round. For everything else, enable Swap Cmd and Ctrl in Settings so Cmd+C on the Mac keyboard acts as Ctrl+C on the PC.
Yes. Text is ready to paste the instant the pointer lands; an image follows on a stream of its own, so it never delays the mouse or the keyboard, and replaces the text when it arrives. Set the largest item you accept, or leave images out altogether, under Settings.
Yes, on Android. Sign the phone in to the same Google account as your computers — or pair it from the list when it is on the same network — and it drives whichever one you tap: a full-screen trackpad, the modifier keys, typing, and the clipboard in both directions. It works the other way only in one respect — nothing can drive the phone, because Android does not let one app press keys in another — so the phone never takes a place in your screen layout.
Yes. Tap the screen icon on a computer in the list and its screen appears on the phone, live, and a finger on the picture puts the pointer there: tap to click, rest a finger to drag, two fingers to scroll. It only works over a direct connection, never through a relay, and each computer has a switch for it under Settings → Screen sharing and shows who is watching. On a Mac, grant the Screen Recording permission there first.
The builds are not yet signed with Apple or Microsoft developer certificates. On macOS, right-click the app and choose Open the first time; on Windows, choose More info → Run anyway if SmartScreen appears.
